Welcome to my newest blog. My goal is to complete a 365 project even though I am starting a little late this year. I failed in my attempt before...but with a new camera and faster laptop I am renewed in my efforts to post successfully...wish me luck!

I just want to sip a margerita.....

...on a warm summer night out on the deck, by a slow, lazy river. Will that day ever get here?

"Why ask, why...if it's raining, it just is."

After spending the weekend digging out our patio, I awoke today to a new project...a swimming pool! I think I am going to need a better filtration system!

Tools of the trade....

What would I do without all my various brushes, pencils, markers and pens..somehow they keep multiplying, because I never throw anything out...you can always find a use for even those brushes that have seen better days.

To the top of the world...

I drive by this old weathered barn everyday and the weathervane always catches my eye in the morning light...but I am in too much of a rush to stop and shoot...but not today!

My Pipe Dream...

This is the little shop for rent across the street from LaSalle Market in Collinsville...it is one open storefront that would be a perfect gallery/studio. Hardwood floors...great light...four walls...just waiting to come alive....dreaming continues...we'll see what dreams are made of.

My Forsythia are coming out...

Every year one of the first signs of spring in my yard is my border of forsythia bushes. In the last few days I've noticed the blossoms popping open little by little....soon our yards will be wrapped in lemon yellow ribbons of color!

Chinese Calligraphy ....

We are studying Chinese culture in our Social Studies class so I asked my fellow teacher if I could do some Chinese Calligraphy and Chop designs with the kids. I think they came out rather nice.

So proud of our Art Teacher....

Dave and I went to North Branford tonight for the opening of Lauren's townwide school art show. It was held in the beautiful town library and it was PACKED. Her students did phenomenal work! We met some of her fellow art teachers, students and her superintendent, who praised our daughter's teaching. Just makes us feel soooo proud!

A clean studio is a happy studio...

Because I had a 1/2 day today, I took advantage of the free time to organize my messy space...it is nice to be cleaned up...wonder how long this will last.

One of my Dad's Barns..

If you ask me where I got my artistic abilities from I would have to say my dad. Although he doesn't paint much anymore, for a long time he traveled around with his Canon camera snapping up photos of old beaten up barns...then he would spend time on the sunporch interpreting what his camera caught. This is one of my favorites.
