I need to make a better lunch...

 
OK, it's 10:00 p.m. and I am just sitting down, after a long day without a good lunch or dinner..sometimes you just want a really good salad...if someone would just whip one up for me!!!

Summer is drifting away...like a lone boat in this Cape Cod Cove...I will miss this season...but I do love the burst of color and energy that comes with fall.

NJ Housewife:Teresa @ Borders

 
Last night Linda and I waited in line with about 500 other women (and men!) to meet Teresa, one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. She was doing a book signing at Borders in Farmington for her new Italian cookbook. It was definately an interesting night...met alot of funny women..and a few crazy ones...and Teresa was actually pretty humorous..next we go for Bethanny!

So my little boys went to Disneyworld last week and all they talk about is Mickey Mouse now...so I made up an art project for them today involving the Mickster...pretty cool results!

Lauren's Barn Painting Lesson..

 
Today, Lauren came over to my studio along with nieces, Elise and Katie, Aunt Marth and Laurie and Scot...all to learn how to paint barns inspired by Grandpa's work...everyone did a great job..and the finished canvases will be hung in Grandpa's art gallery at his house.

The days are slowly counting down until school starts again...and I am OK with that...but it has been a wonderfully relaxing summer..and it will be hard to start being on a regimented schedule again...my heart does truly belong to summer!

I spent a wonderfully creative day in Brookfield today with my sister Martha at our friend, Marge's studio. What a great and inspiring time we had, bouncing ideas off each other, creating block collages and motifs of Rockport, Mass. Marge is a wonderful and patient teacher, and I came away with so many new ideas...can't wait to get back to my own studio and try some out. Thanks a million, Marge...you home AND ART is SPECTACULAR!!

So I have taken on the task of creating an art journal for the Brooklyn Museum of Art. It is part of the Sketchbook Project, a collaboration of artists all doing their take on different themes in art. The journals have to be completed and sent back to the museum by Jan. 2011. They will be on display with an interactive site where people can view journals, give feedback and showcase their art. Then the project travels to five other art museums throughout the country. Just getting started, as there are many pages to fill, but fun stuff.

Summer time and my hair is driving me crazy...wish I could get a buzz cut...but since that is not an option I went to Ulta today and just told her to chop it shorter...happy hair finally!!

One of the best things about summer is the pace of it...you actually can slow down and read the paper instead of just letting it pile up in the recycle bin...it's a good thing!

Spent the morning in the studio prepping collage papers for sketchbook project...lots of ideas floating about...just have to sit down and get busy gettin' busy! (I love a project!!)
